Was andere Musiker nur denken, hat Al Yankovic endlich ausgesprochen: In seiner Parodie auf James Blunts weinerliches 'You're beautiful' wird endlich auf das eingegangen, was ich den weltweit einzigen Einsatz praecox nennen würde, der es je auf eine CD-Aufnahme geschafft hat. Oder glaubt irgend jemand, dass Blunt absichtlich die erste Line 'My life is brilliant' zweimal singt? Blunts Lyrics behaupten zwar 'I've got a plan', aber ich persönlich glaub, er hat keinen, zumindest taktmäßig.

Die Nummer ist im Walzertakt, 9/8 in der Strophe. Sie startet in Db, hält das aber keine ganze Strophe lang durch, sondern landet schon nach einer halben in Gb, wo's mit 12/8 weitergeht, und schafft dann einen ganz flockigen Wechsel über 1x9/8 in einen 12/8-Chorus in C-Dur. Mir bleibt jedesmal wieder der Mund offen. Aber bei so vielen Achteln wär ich vielleicht auch flockiger. ;))

Wer wie ich englische Songtexte schreibt, braucht manchmal ein bisschen Unterstützung. Die gibts in der RhymeZone - Suche nach Reimen, Synonymen, Antonymen, Definitionen - alles, was man braucht, wenn man in der vorletzten Textzeile feststeckt. Die Frage von F. letztens, wie ich das so schnell hinkrieg mit einer dritten Strophe, dürfte damit geklärt sein. =)
